As I look across the bleak landscape out my window and the dormant trees and shrubs, I am reminded, as God wills, they will come alive! In a way, this reminds me of new life in Christ. Boys and girls, lost, dead in their trespasses and sins, then, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us (boys & girls), even when we were dead in sins, has quickened us (boys & girls) together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;)” Ephesians 2:4 & 5 (emphasis mine).

It never ceases to amaze me the power of the Gospel! The seed is sown, then watered and God gives the increase! The child, under the power of the Holy Spirit, begins to grow in the grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. They learn of Jesus — how He walked, how He talked, how He loved, how He obeyed and they become like Him. “For it is God which works in you (boys and girls) both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” (emphasis mine) All a wonderful process under the leadership of God the Holy Spirit!

As we enter 2018, will you consider the children? They are playing in backyards, front yards & streets right in your neighborhood. They are with their parents at the grocery store or mall. They attend the elementary school in your community. They are lost and dying in their sins. They need a Savior! Will you ask yourself: what can I do to tell the children about Jesus Christ? Maybe God is calling you to pray more for the children? Is God calling you to be involved in an After School Good News Club® in the elementary school in your community? Perhaps, God has blest you financially, and He is leading you to share with the local CEF ministry in your area or the state CEF ministry?

How ever God is leading you, you will not come up empty-handed! God will bless the socks off of you and children will hear the Gospel and have an opportunity to receive Jesus Christ for salvation and begin a life-long process of growing to be more like Him! Come on, shake off that bleak January scene and look and see children coming to Christ!
