Word Day of Prayer - November 4, 2020
October is the month most of the After School Good News Clubs®, Good News Clubs®, Preschool Good News Clubs and Monthly After School Clubs start up, but because of the Covid19 restrictions many elementary school after school activities are on hold.
As you know the Boekells have been asking you to pray for over a year for a new vehicle. The Boekells Blue Buggy – a 2009 Highlander Sport has 339,000 + miles on it.
Just a couple of months ago CEF of WV Inc. started a New Car Fund for us.
I have been thinking about the month of May. When our children were growing up, we would on occasion hang a May basket on the door of someone special. The basket consisted of some special gift or flowers. It wasn’t anything fancy or elaborate, but would simply say, “We’re thinking of you and you are special.”
Well, we don’t have a May basket to hang on your door, but if we did, we would! We just want you to know we are thinking of you and you are special! We truly appreciate your faithful prayers for the children and for us.
The other day, the wife of our local CEF Director in the Eastern Panhandle Chapter shared this precious story. A child in an After School Good News Club® was learning this Bible verse: “In Whom we have redemption, through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” The teacher explained, ‘to have redemption (be redeemed) is to be rescued from something because someone paid a price. Jesus is our Redeemer – the one Who paid the price for your sin.’
The first month of 2020 is history. There have been many exciting things happening in the first month of 2020. After School Good News Clubs® have started back up. Children are attending and hearing of Jesus’ love for them, how He died on the cross and shed His blood for their sins and rose again. They are being given the opportunity to receive Him for salvation.
As we begin the new year of 2020, thoughts of a clear vision for this next year and decade is important. CEF® has a purpose statement:
“…evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living.” Their vision statement is “Guiding a new generation that seeks to honor God.”
Summer is waning. Children are headed back to school. The trees will soon display their various colors and fall will be here. The cycle of the seasons is Biblical. In Genesis 8:22, God says, “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” Yes, God’s creation is very cyclical!
